unmask

Unmask
8-25-12

At the ripe young age of eighty-three
Aaron is unmasked
When he speaks to the Pharaoh
About the matters of what was yet to become
Of a people that had a need to be let go
As I seek an emancipation of my own
From this bondage of living
In the fear that in truth indeed
Is of that which is not serving as the illusion and enigma
As something to work out with my Maker
Tonight where I will spill it out all over my skin...

Just Weight
8-25-12

Ponderous is the situation put to music
Straight into my ear
Drums in their need to be once more enlightened
As awkward and unwieldy are the weights I still carry
On my back of those wine bottle adventures
That made me the man I am today
Of my backpack strap half torn down the middle
As my soul is rent in twain again
Only so that on this night
Again I will be One....

On Exodus 7:17
8-25-12

Yeah, the fish will die
As the river does stink
As signs done there make all of those Egyptians think
And I will be as the intercessor
For all of those who go out in the Exodus of modern times
As I wish them well on their way
Giving thanks to be one that will stay
Because I dig the architecture
And have not need to hear their lecture
As the signs are performed
And the water of this river
Will be as the blood in full effect.....
