Derrick
8-23-12
In my heavy lifting of my derrick
By the arm of this jib crane
To come to a conclusion
That none of this has been in vain
Yet to experience a sadness
That is not contrary to a well being I am yet to see
Looking back on my drink binges
I would be saturated within on nights of prolific
Yet adulterated spiritual pursuits
I still know this treasure that no man today can take away....
Side Course
8-23-12
For every burden there is a blessing
Like cottage cheese drowned in French salad dressing
That was my fix at my school lunch
Chosen rather than the main course
In that I choose to bathe again
To baptize my race horse
She anticipates a challenge at the gate
Where the starting gun is fired
Where for every burden there is a blessing...
On Guard
8-24-12
Guarding my own sarcophagus
Just as the sepulcher where the stone is rolled away
Where I rise at six
Determined to start again this sunshiny day
Making sure that no thieves steal the body of the Savior
When the guards are fast asleep
This page poorly written is the stepping stone
Towards what I will write the rest of the day...
