Undervalue
4-27-09
Yet we undervalue our own esteem
As our self worth is but a dream
It is said that we ought to put others first
So that quenched and mollified can be our dire thirst
We yet undervalue our own state of mind
As we rest nine hours to get back in the grind
We are subject to servitude and slavery
As we distinguish bravado from bravery
We are only so that we might be
As the help our neighbor
Is the only reason why we are free...
We Can Invent
4-27-09
We can invent, we can fabricate and coin
We can partake of the meat that is derived
From the ribs, the backbone and the loin
It is good to enjoy the barbeque of such
To come to terms with our appetite
In which I will never get too much
My poetry is a gift to all that hear
So I converse with my father of flesh over another beer
Yet my Father in Spirit knows what is best
As to face the world I need my bullet proof vest
We can invent, we can fabricate
We can take up the weapon of love to fight against hate
Yet subject to these principalities....
