Fat Cats
6-4-14
Fat cats make the world go round
I feed mine with the cheap stuff and she's satisfied
Looking still for a common and middle ground
O, how hath he covered
The daughter of Zion with a cloud
I quote these passages with a free pen
Free but such a tongue yet tied
Burning against Jacob like a flaming fire
I am one to be as one to preach to the choir
For I bear them witness
That they have a zeal but not according the knowledge
As so today I seek to be as real
And pray for a brother going back to collage
He hath bent to bow like a good friend
Pouring out his liberality
In that we will understand each other in the end....
Seed In My Teeth
6-4-16
I have a raspberry seed stuck in my teeth
Yes, two above and three beneath
Violently taking away his tabernacle
I hang my Christmas wreathe
Not according to calendar days
In no respect of particular holiday
All pertains to now in various ways
Breaking out my N.W.T.
Yet to rediscover what it is to be the real me
Pouring out his love like water
But not according to what dull eyes can but see
As God is a close companion to those swallowed up in palaces
Yet to drink ones fill from golden chalices
According to roses grown in gardens that He doth plant again
So that the poet might take up today his blue pen....
On Lamentations 2:7 (look this up)
6-4-14
Our Lord is our friend
Spewing tares from his day
A mouth with perfect understanding
Come the end of such a new beginning
In gazing towards the wall
To my south to behold a book
About fighting fire with fire
Calling solemn feasts to be remembered
He is my prop and muse serving as a crutch and stave
Increasing in mourning and lamentation
This is the new stuff that now I crave
As such walls of her palaces
So make a noise in the house
As in the day of the solemn feast
I take my seat with my back to the east
Given a perfect view of all that pass by this way....
