Joseph At Seventeen
5-6-16
No more cigarettes today
O, no more guilt of killing myself over a jonsing
Crossing Cooper Square watching between the cobbles
It's alright today
I take my chances
God tells me to get out of bed
To write something
One more cup of coffee before I go
Some plans don't turn out the way you want them
Like fine china
We try to pick up the pieces
Joseph at seventeen fed the flock
Good news is God's news
Do it one more time for me this weekend.....
It's Going To Work Out!
5-6-16
Praising my Jesus even in the rain
He never wore a diamond ring
To live is Christ and to die is gain
As he gives me reasons to sing
The air turns cool and there are pigeons
Where we are not to judge our neighbors' religions
Most offensive is not to share it
Reserve us a table for three
Theologians don't like short answers
Pray for me
Do it one more time for me
And another on my birthday
Praying for patience
Love, peace and joy
Against which there is no law
One more hour and I will see her....
