flagon

Flagon
6-6-13

By the misuse of magnums
I sought a way out
That only provided another way back
In dealing to every man a piece of flesh and a flagon of wine
Yet to cultivate a thankful heart
In counting the things which today are mine
In the offering of burnt sacrifices
In the time consumed today in blue ink
So that on good things I might think...

Box
6-6-13

Two stone tablets are yet in the box
Being the most coveted item
Wanderers would set their eyes upon
And be ones to die for it
Along with their golden jar of manna sought after
Even harder now that they have tasted that it was good
In that I present my prayers today for all that might be struggling close by
And if this is all I can do then I indeed do well.....

Raisin
6-6-13

Raisin cakes would replace the wine
That once would fester in my feast nights
Where I sought only more and more
The thing that would replace what I thought I wanted
Wherein today raisin and granola will serve
As the substance to nourish this emptiness in times of such a spiritual drought
Moistened by the water I set myself to drink to upon better things
I hope to think glad to have fixed again my kitchen sink
Whose raisin cakes doth replace the wine....
