Waiting for my pizza to arrive
This is one more reason to be glad to be alive
Put on a fresh pot of joe
As my incentive to proceed
Is that there is so much more to know
Reminding myself of last night
When I decided to take up meditation
To add to my prayer
I wonder, O is it right
So I dedicate this pie to my former preacher
Like it were a gift of God
Thank you Jesus for all that has been today
And help me to live this life better and better
I know that your love will see my through
Halelujiah...




New Dedications

God answers prayer
With yes, no or wait
And when he doesn't give us what we want
It's no reason for hate
One hour later
I stash my remaining two slices into my refrigerator
Satisfied that it doesn't always need to rhyme
Yet we may as well give it a try if we have the time
Soon time to go back to my room for my dedications
A new way to pray straight from the heart
With hopes for another day
To be God's work of art...




To Salvage Sense

Trying to replace profanity of complaint with a praise
Hoping to serve and seek and salvage sense
For the rest of my days
Hoping for my inspiration to return
On a bleak and meek day
But what I write here is something
Where, to life, narrow is the Way
Getting stuck in the mud of riverbanks between two stanzas
But at least I am walking forward from here....
