bout

Bout
11-12-15

Eight bouts and six matches
Direct routes and perfect catches
Fillet it or fry it
Portray it or just try it
In the mouth of Rmadan
A fast enjoined from dawn to sunset
Hating to waste time in waiting for tomorrow
To do my thing
As I lay down and pray for my printer
And they shall have want of bread and water
And be astonished one with another
By the serpent of Lepanto
Take a sharp knife and a barber's razor
Cause it to pass upon your beard
And claim it to be my own
For ewer, pitcher and jug
Our decorative vessel....

Draught Revisited
11-12-15

And now the axe is laid unto the root
And now the tax is paid for all substance and loot
And now a good man makes rock the flute
Going home to eat something
And to go to sleep and dream of grocery shopping
The son of Joseph, the son of Heli
So the geneology seems to go on forever
Hold thy peace and come out of him
Fear not for henceforth thou shall catch men
You catch them and God cleans them
Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught
This tonight I do for the cause of itself
I will, be thou clean...

Nip And Tuck
11-12-15

Upon my microwave oven sits my strong box
But without a lock
Thou take few in number and bind them up in your skirts
For another flotilla of two or more squadrons
Take these hairs and cast them into the midst of the fire
Even in no shave November
We cease to hold this custom
Squally and stormy
Yet the skies have cleared
The meaning of walk
To practice and apply it to life
Nipping it in the bud
Gaining advantage
Nip and tuck....

On Ezekiel 5:7,8
11-12-15

One nip of pure grained spirits was enough
As a child I did experiment
In my grandparent's basement
Drowned in my laughter and death to the cold
Because ye multiplied more than the nations round about
Therefore I am against you
But still we ask, O why
In the midst of thee
In the light of these nations
And lucid dreams of taking vacations
Ones commandment
One nip of pure grained spirits was enough
Almost ablazed
But still I don't feel the heat
I turn the thermostat up to seventy-six
And soon it will be cozy and sweet....
