Welcome To My Mortar
11-23-15
Today is my brother's birthday
We are taught to teach and blessed to be a blessing
Forgiveness is seventy times seven
It's about stewardship
We don't own anything
No, not even this tablet
It's God's paper, it's God's ink
It really makes me think back to the days of my roller rink
Lord, this is my closet
Help me to use it all for you
Led them as a ray with a cloudy pillar
And by night with a pillar of fire
No room to botch or bungle
O, welcome to my jungle
Welcome to my mortar
Welcome to my pitch and slime
And welcome to my brick....
Judge Not
11-23-15
Coming to the other side
Into the country of the Gergesenes
Only that which is upright is true
One more fix is imperative
I lose and win again
By all means before church study
In Matthew chapter seven
Is it so hard to understand you
Saw the affliction of our fathers
In Egypt I heard their cry by the Red Sea
Precept upon precept
Word upon word
Here a little, there a little
Theme a little you divided the sea before them
Saved from the water at Mount Sinai
Today I simply let it fit
Time for that fix
But what is it really fixing....
Terrible Calligraphy
11-23-15
Strait is the gate
Narrow is the way and few find it
As love conquers hate
Given things to say
Another check so I signed it
Jesus healed her so she arose and ministered unto them
And again I'm wined and dined
Given myself the benefit of terrible calligraphy
Praying that I'll be able to read what I have written
Telling them to go in and possess the land
Come the seventh whisper
Foxes have holes and birds have nests
So we're out for souls
Never minding the pests
You gave them bread from heaven
For their hunger
And today I feel a little bit younger
As well good statutes and commandments....
