If you wish to be great then so serve
And you'll get just the thing you thought you did not deserve
Where our sons of thunder wail alongside their Messiah
With newfound confidence in a nimble stride
Yet to be abased  while once more lifted up in pride
If you want to be great
Then extend your hand and serve....

Ask not for well being to have glory in self
But to extend a hand and to serve someone today
When change is made in me in these latter days
Of a coolness in the month of May
Sitting right next to God's manifestation of unmerited favor
Asking not for the wrong reasons that which I take up
As the threshing tool of trust and reverential love for my God above....




A Prayer That It Will Matter
5-28-13

Asking today my God
O, why does my life matter
And what will you have me to do
That will be as the blessing in others' lives today
And O, may not all these things have been in vain
O, I have the desire to make a difference
In the times I was beside myself and insane
O, let not vanity have its place in the silence
And the empty space of my meditation
This is my prayer that such a thing will indeed matter...
