Happy To Be Warm

Happy to be warm
Hot bath, cup of coffee
And an indigo sweatshirt
To thankfulness I choose to conform
With free verse I try to flirt
Time to find new ways to woo in the world, my words
New tome, polished chrome
Don't try to wash it if it's clean
New book
Likened to a steel fishhook
With shaky hands it is hard to put the line through the loop...
Barefaced
2-8-09
Woman of decency in the far East
Without her black veil
Was considered to be like soft core porn
The treacherous try to get her to take it off
With the wheedling of blackmail
Yet I am not one to speak of what I know nothing about
As they blow the horn
May us take our lessons on the trumpet
The saxophone and the cornet
We get a little bit lightheaded
When our infirmity we forget....
Hundred Dollar Bill
2-8-09
I am yet to study of how crystals
Can be a strange color, hue and shade
We respect the millionaire
As if he has it all and has it made
All the wealth and sustenance in the world cannot bring joy
Yet Ben Franklin can give you a little smile
My uncle said this before he died
We watched Star Trek in the basement
But for a little while
Life here is a fleeting moment
Have not respect of persons
Care not for garb, guise or style....
