Fig
5-8-13
In knowing that summer is nigh
I give God thanks for my air conditioners
In leaving out a sigh
Still having those dreams where I learn how to fly
In no further need to inquire of truth or even ask why
As such a branch puts forth her green leaves
To serve me as the sign that indeed summer is coming
And that it is written that all of this is yours and mine
Learning again the parable of the fig tree
To prove that indeed
He whom loves his neighbor truly is free....
Foil Not
5-8-13
Allowing not such a verse to foil my mind
In such misrepresentation
That is by nature one according to the flesh
In its callow state of such growth
Where I have not yet apprehended
Allowing not such a verse to say what threw me for a loop
Upon that afternoon of idleness yet diligent
By way of pen
Where I turn down a proposition
To go to the coffee house
When I already had enough on my own....
Assembly
5-8-13
Yet assembled are elders, scribes and priests
By which all intercessions for them serve as my hourly feasts
Of delving into the Scriptures as my lot in life to be the mission
Of roving eyes that yet traverse
And when in doubt of what it could mean
I move on to the next verse
To fill me in on what and where I have been lacking....
On Psalm 56, 57
5-8-13
Yet to seek out the silent dove in distant lands
To serve as my sweet mystery set to the Psalm I read
For inspiration to write what my heart knows in the here and Now
Of my riches I already know in such gratitude
Yet to seek out a song entitled
Do not destroy
To set the tone of such a Psalm
I study today to fill in these empty spaces
In my solitude of exile
I take up for the cause of all of this...
