Topiary
5-28-13
By the dynamic topiary of the mind
I see that there is much inside of me I am yet to find
Using words found as strange
To incorporate the synapses
That fire together and wire together
Where we make small talk in talking about the weather
Passing the day caressing my facial hair
Allowed to grow out to conduct this experiment of newfangled identity
Yet not according to countenance nor stature
Where God looks upon the heart by the dynamic topiary of the mind....
Instinctual Drive
5-28-13
Self-preservation seems to be to us the strongest of our instinctual drives
Like the libido lying still in the core of ones being
Questioning the probability of past lives
And why we don't remember where we came from
On the road to discovery and recovery
By which the garden of our deeply rooted beliefs yet thrives
Caressing the beard that today I let grow....
Report
5-28-13
Asteroid strikes on our emotional ecology
Are reported on the morning local news
In a dream even before I take that first step of faith out of bed
To fix a cup of coffee and light a smoke
Glad to be given another chance at life
Where God's mercies are new every morning
Setting out again for a literary feast
With my request for a prolific day
Regardless of the weather...
Mental Floss
5-28-13
Brushing memories out of my conscious mind
Like a mental floss of cleansing of pearly whites
Stained by my morning coffee and smoke
Where my stars are once again aligned
For the optimum experience
In the thing that I do here and now
With tablet and pen
Allowing these passions to envelop and unwind
With plaque as my incentive
To make my way straight through today
Into an evening of my binge upon cookies and milk....
